Overview

Use the Apple Digital AV Adapter to mirror whatever’s on your iPad or iPhone 4S screen — apps, presentations, websites, and more — on your HDTV or HDMI-compatible display in up to 1080p HD (movies play at up to 720p). Watch slideshows and movies on the big screen in up to 720p by connecting your iPad, iPhone 4, or iPod touch (4th generation) to an HDTV or HDMI-compatible display. The Apple Digital AV Adapter routes digital audio to screens that support it. Connect the Apple Digital AV Adapter to your iPad, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, or iPod touch (4th generation) via the 30-pin dock connector and to your HDMI-compatible display using an HDMI cable (sold separately). A second 30-pin connector built into the AV adapter lets you charge and sync your device while it’s connected to your HDMI-compatible display.

doesnt work well with iphoto with iphone 4s

i just bought it and tried it with iphoto on the iphone 4s and it does not mirror the screen the description says: "Use the Apple Digital AV Adapter to mirro i just bought it and tried it with iphoto on the iphone 4s and it does not mirror the screen the description says: "Use the Apple Digital AV Adapter to mirror whatever’s on your iPad or iPhone 4S screen — apps, presentations, websites, and more — on your HDTV or HDMI-compatible display in up to 1080p HD (movies play at up to 720p)." it is a false statement i wanted to show the diary on the big screen and it just didnt work i could only see the iphoto logo. Seems to work well with other apps so far

Inconsistent connection

Dislike: Inconsistent HMDI connection from an iPhone 4 and worse from an iPad 2. The connection behaves as if there is a short in the cable... very frustrating! Returned the first purchase, because I thought the product may have been returned damaged; however, second purchase behaved exactly the same. I believe Apple should consider a redesign; great idea, but simply does not work well.

Amazing!!!

This dongle is really fantastic. I used it with my iPhone 4S and my iPad2, it does everything I need. I think it is a new version since it only works with iOS This dongle is really fantastic. I used it with my iPhone 4S and my iPad2, it does everything I need. I think it is a new version since it only works with iOS 5.1 and it comes in a new package. it perfectly mirrors my devices and I can watch movies on the TV (with HD content the quality is great). For games is the must-have accessory. I'm looking forward for receiveing my New iPad, I'll get rid of my gaming consolle and use the new iPad when I want to play games on the TV. Totally worth the 39 bucks.

This is unacceptable, I paid too much money for the simple ability to send a signal through an adaptor and it can not do that. It never worked once with my ipho This is unacceptable, I paid too much money for the simple ability to send a signal through an adaptor and it can not do that. It never worked once with my iphone 4s at ios8. The way that apple promotes "planned obsolescence" by making their old devices incapable of performing actions -once a new device comes out- to force consumers to buy the newer more expensive devices is deceitful towards its customers and environmentally dangerous (because useless consumer electronics end up contributing to long term e-waste). I would much rather have the galaxy note 2 or a google phone, they are simply better, more advanced phones at a cheaper price. Of course, if you're a slave to trends like some teenage girl I understand why it's so hard to make the obvious choice of abandoning a company that falls behind it's competitors and treats its consumers like children as it sells them devices with time limits to fail, when a device like an iphone should be able to last for decades.

I've spent more time rebooting the darned system than watching Net Flix which is why it was purchased. Fiddle with it, and finally when I do get a picture, and put the phone down, beside the TV, it quits. Start all over again. This is ludicrous! Thanks Apple for a product that is inferior.

Time for change

This is not the first time accesories for my iPad 3 suddenly stopped working. Might not be a bad thing although frustrating as I am starting to lean more and This is not the first time accesories for my iPad 3 suddenly stopped working. Might not be a bad thing although frustrating as I am starting to lean more and more to Windows 10 devices this is the push I need to move away from Apple. You cant just sell original accessories and a year later just make them fail. It is simple unacceptable..
