      Thunderbolt cable from Apple

      Quality product. It is just a cable so there isn't much more one can say. I bought it at the original price of $49.99 and now see that the price has dropped to Quality product. It is just a cable so there isn't much more one can say. I bought it at the original price of $49.99 and now see that the price has dropped to a somewhat more reasonable level. From a purely functional viewpoint, it would get 5 stars. Throw in the price and one star gets taken away. If Apple is serious about pushing Thunderbolt sales, these cables should be sold at near cost (including shipping) until the price becomes reasonable, IMHO.

      one good, one dead

      Bought two of these at the original price of $50. Opened one and used it to connect a thunderbolt Lacie 2Big drive. Didn't turn on. Thought the drive was dea Bought two of these at the original price of $50. Opened one and used it to connect a thunderbolt Lacie 2Big drive. Didn't turn on. Thought the drive was dead, got another drive. Then that was dead. So I swapped cables and voila the new drive worked. So the problem was that one of my 2 cables was dead on arrival (DOA). On insertion, it felt notably more "tough" to insert than the second (good) cable. Of course I didn't know how a thunderbolt cable should feel on insertion since the DOA one was the first I'd ever used.

      stopped working

      This cable stopped working after maybe a couple dozen uses. I used it to connect my macbook to a Vizio tv. Nothing changed in how the cable was used, it simply This cable stopped working after maybe a couple dozen uses. I used it to connect my macbook to a Vizio tv. Nothing changed in how the cable was used, it simply stopped transmitting picture and sound to the TV. For $40, I certainly expected better.

      Unreliable

      I am using this to connect my MBA to a thunderbolt dock. it is not moved around. it goes in gentle sweeps, it is under no physical or thermal stress. and eve I am using this to connect my MBA to a thunderbolt dock. it is not moved around. it goes in gentle sweeps, it is under no physical or thermal stress. and every month or so the MBA locks up requiring a PRAM reset and cable switching - what else would I like reliability from a premium priced cable!

      Not working in mini displayport mode

      I would like to connect my 4k screen Viewsonic VP2780 (mini displayport 1.2a) on my iMac 5k with this cable but it didn't work :-( Waste money , I 've bought a I would like to connect my 4k screen Viewsonic VP2780 (mini displayport 1.2a) on my iMac 5k with this cable but it didn't work :-( Waste money , I 've bought a mini displayport cable from Belkin to replace this one and it works !!

      Limited Use

      I bought it thinking I could use it as a connection to my Airport but I would have to buy another converter for the CAT5e cable. Did a test to see what was fas I bought it thinking I could use it as a connection to my Airport but I would have to buy another converter for the CAT5e cable. Did a test to see what was faster and it fell short of the CAT5e. Problem is that the CAT5e can only take about 5/gbs and CAT 6 is 10/gbs, so I would have to go buy a CAT 6 and another coupling just to jack into my airport. I am trying to use it to transfer files from macbook to iMac, but that is the only option I can come up with.
