Anáhuac Cancún – International University - Drawing and Digital Architecture
Mexico

Creating a more socially responsible future.

With three campuses and a student body representing more than 40 different nationalities, the School of Architecture at Universidad Anáhuac Cancún has embraced iPad and apps to make its architecture program more accessible to all students. With iPad and Apple Pencil, drafting barriers are removed — which allows more students from diverse backgrounds and drawing abilities to become modern architects using cutting-edge technology.

“We’ve always thought it important to invest in technology that allows equitable access to education — and iPad is the best option,” says Vice President Tomasz Bogdanski. “We’ve been able to empower the students, so even those who don’t have the skills to draw on paper can illustrate, create, and conceive ideas.”

iPad and powerful apps, such as Morpholio Trace, SketchUp, Sketchbook, Autodesk Formit, Voxel Max, and Procreate, are at the center of Anáhuac’s program, where students are learning to create digital concepts, real-time, three-dimensional models, technical drawings, and augmented reality.

With a mission to educate men and women so that they can make a difference and develop projects that benefit society, students focus on designs that give back to the community, such as parks, schools, and housing in local neighborhoods. They also gain real-world skills by helping design new buildings as part of the Anáhuac’s campus expansion plans.

“We’re here to help people become more and to give more to society. To create a better future. That’s where our hearts are.”
