Clips brings fun and simple video creation to iPhone and iPad
Free App is Now Available on the App Store
Clips, a new app from Apple that makes it easy to create expressive videos on iPhone and iPad, is now available as a free download on the App Store. The app provides an all-new way to produce quick, engaging videos to share with friends or family through the Messages app, or on Instagram, Facebook and other social networks. Clips’ simple, single-screen interface lets users make polished, multi-clip videos in minutes without video editing timelines, tracks or complicated tools to learn.
Clips also introduces a breakthrough new feature called Live Titles that lets users add live animated captions and titles using just their voice. Captions are generated instantaneously as a user speaks, and appear on screen perfectly synced with the user’s voice. With a range of other creative features like artistic filters, speech bubbles, emoji overlays, full-screen posters and dozens of music soundtracks to choose from, Clips provides an all-new way for iPhone and iPad users to express themselves through video.
Videos Made Easy
Clips lets you create videos in real time using simple controls. Touch and hold the red button to shoot live video and photos, or add anything you’d like from your library. For easy, hands-free recording, touch and slide the red button to the left to lock it in the “on” position. Just touch the button again to stop recording.
Create animated titles and captions using your voice. Captions are generated automatically as you speak, and match the timing of your voiceover. You can choose from seven different title styles. After recording a Live Title, you can edit the text to add punctuation, replace words, and even insert inline emojis. First tap a clip that includes a Live Title. Play the clip and then tap Pause when any of the Live Title text is visible onscreen. Tap the text to open a new screen that allows you to make changes.
Give your photos and video clips a comic book look or drop in animated speech bubbles, arrows, banners, and emojis. The emoji page in the overlays browser displays your recently used emojis, but you can add any emoji to your Clips videos. Simply add an existing emoji, tap to select it, then use the standard emoji keyboard to choose a new one. After that, the new emoji will appear in the overlays browser. You can also add customizable full-screen posters to help tell your story.
When you’re done, Clips recommends people to share your creations with based on who is mentioned in your voiceover or included in your photos. You can also send your videos directly to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and other popular social media sites.
