UPDATE November 10, 2017

Honoring America’s veterans

Apple Watch users can earn a special badge on November 11 for completing an 11-minute workout that day.
On Veterans Day, Apple recognizes the service of our veterans by paying respect to them and their families while continuing to build awareness for their community.
In commemoration, Apple introduces a unique Activity Challenge for Apple Watch users in the US where anyone who completes a workout of 11 minutes or more on November 11 will earn a special badge and sticker for Messages. This Activity Challenge will also be integrated into “WOD (Workout of the Day) for Warriors” events across the country hosted by Team Red, White & Blue, an organization that aims to enrich the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity.
The App Store offers a collection of apps for those who have served, covering fitness, military news and wellness, including several developed by the Department of Veterans Affairs like Stay Quit Coach, ACT Coach and Mindfulness Coach. These apps share an important goal: to support service members, veterans and their families by providing them with the latest military news, essential health info, advice on transitioning and helpful tools for everyday life. Additionally, customers can explore iTunes for curated collections of movies and TV shows that capture stories of heroism, listen to inspiring and informative Podcasts and read iBooks about bravery and sacrifice written by veterans.
