Overview
The USB-C to USB Adapter lets you connect iOS devices and many of your standard USB accessories to a USB-C– or Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C)–enabled Mac.
Plug the USB-C end of the adapter into a USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) port on your Mac, and then connect your flash drive, camera or other standard USB device. You can also connect a Lightning to USB cable to sync and charge your iPhone, iPad or iPod.

The HUAWEI mate 9 charger looks like it is a QC3 charger without any support for USB-PD. I'd avoid c The HUAWEI mate 9 charger looks like it is a QC3 charger without any support for USB-PD. I'd avoid connecting a QC2/3 charger with Type-C output to any non-QC devices, including the MacBook Pro 13". If you do, the best that will happen is that the Mac will charge at ~12W (5v @ 2.4A). It might also charge at a lower current, not at all, or end up damaged somehow.
