  • Overview

The 45W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter features a magnetic DC connector so if someone should trip over it, the cord disconnects harmlessly and your MacBook Air stays put safely. It also helps prevent fraying or weakening of the cables over time. In addition, the magnetic DC helps guide the plug into the system for a quick and secure connection.

When the connection is secure, an LED located at the head of the DC connector lights up; an amber light lets you know that your notebook is charging, while a green light tells you that you have a full charge. An AC cord is provided with the adapter for maximum cord length, while the AC wall adapter (also provided) gives you an even easier and more compact way to travel.

Designed to be the perfect traveling companion, the adapter has a clever design which allows the DC cable to be wound neatly around itself for easy cable storage.

This power adapter recharges the lithium polymer battery while the system is off, on, or in sleep mode. It also powers the system if you choose to operate without a battery.

Compatible only with MacBook Air featuring MagSafe 2 power port.

      Broke too soon

Quite careful with my equipment. This one simply stopped working under no significant stress conditions. Quality control alert.

When I saw the reviews I thought they were joking. I feel like sending the entire laptop back because of the adapter. It falls off for no reason and gets in the way. Apple needs to do a recall.

The new MagSafe 2 hasn't been available for that long - only since the new 2012 MBA's came out in mid-June. The new MagSafe 2's charger attachment magnet is incredibly weak and will detach at the slightest provocation. Or unhappy thought. Or suspicious look. This product is terrible and Apple should fix this as soon as possible.

Stationary Use Yet Replacing in Less Than 6 months

Long time PC user, convert to Mac. Love my MacBook Air & iPad used for store POS. However, this is the second time now that I'm having to have the power adapter Long time PC user, convert to Mac. Love my MacBook Air & iPad used for store POS. However, this is the second time now that I'm having to have the power adapter replaced due to it splitting/falling apart. Mind you, I use this laptop exclusively at my desk at home, which is about as conservatively as it could be used. The first time, I woke one morning to find the cord shredded like it had exploded. Today, I just happened to run my hand across the cord and found the small split. Thankfully, Apple is replacing it again, but it's still a hassle and I just think that expecting a better quality adapter for such an expensive piece of equipment doesn't seem unreasonable at all.

      Very Poor Quality

It´s a contradiction that for such an expensive computer Apple has made such a poor quality power adapter. It´s very weak and the cable breaks easily.
