It’s lighter, has fewer moving parts thanks to its built-in battery and continuous bottom shell, and has an optimized foot design — all helping Magic Mouse 2 track easier and move with less resistance across your desk. And the Multi-Touch surface allows you to perform simple gestures such as swiping between web pages and scrolling through documents. MUCH smoother on the desk, more solid feel, definitely seems like an upgrade vs just a replacement. Even my wife noticed how much better it seemed to work, and she didn't even notice when I replaced our old iMac last year! Yes, it's weird to have the port on the bottom for charging. But honestly, if the battery lasts as long as they say it will between charges it's not a big deal.

I tried to use it with everything I could (desktops, laptops, tablets,...) and it always worked smoothly via Bluetooth. The outstanding design and swiping ability are just awesome. I recommend this mouse for everyone who is frustrated from a cheap plastic junk mice and always losing a small wireless USB transmitters.

      Great mouse

Mouse came charged to 95% and it was very easy to pair. I like its clicking sound better than the one old mouse had.

The Worst Apple Mouse Ever Made

The only good thing about this mouse is that you don't have to pay for AA batteries every so often. Beyond that, this product is a step backwards compared to it The only good thing about this mouse is that you don't have to pay for AA batteries every so often. Beyond that, this product is a step backwards compared to it's predecessor. You cannot use the mouse while it is charging, which is what you'd expect from a cheap PC mouse, not an expensive Apple mouse. The charger also requires you to use one of the Mac's precious few USB ports while it charges. However, the worst issue with this product are the intermittent connection failures -sometimes the mouse won't even connect at all without restarting the entire computer. Avoid this product at all costs: invest in the previous model instead. You might spend more in AA batteries, but you'll also have a product that works.

I recently went back to grad school and opted for a MacBook Pro and Magic Mouse 2. Even at times the computer seems clunky and slow - the worse complaint is this Magic Mouse!! It takes a rocket scientist to get it open to replace batteries (there are a lot of websites that provide instructions, that ought to tell you something) but it is always a chore to get the back open. To add injury to insult, this mouse eats batteries like crazy!!! I am an average user as far as time goes, but I'm replacing batteries every two weeks. No kidding!!! It has a mind of its own too. It struggles to wake up and goes dormant on and off all the time. Junk. What happened to Apple quality?

      The worst!

Absolutely the most annoying thing ever. You have to be very careful about where you click. More times than not it gives you a right click (menus, etc) instead Absolutely the most annoying thing ever. You have to be very careful about where you click. More times than not it gives you a right click (menus, etc) instead of a left. You have to be on the extreme left to get a left click. If you have your finger resting on top and move the mouse sideways in any way, it will change the screen, navigate you away from the app your working on, or select multiple excel columns, etc. I can't even tell you the number of times in a day I want to throw this thing against the wall.
