    On the back of AirPort Express is a USB port that’s made for your printer. Just plug it in and instantly it’s like having a printer in every room. And since AirPort Express works with Mac and PC, everyone in the house can take advantage of one centrally available printer.

    Compatibility and security.

    AirPort Express is compatible with devices using the 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, and 802.11n specifications. So no matter what Wi-Fi device you’re using, it will work with AirPort Express. AirPort Express also features a built-in firewall to protect your network from malicious Internet attacks. The firewall is automatically turned on, so you don’t have to do a thing.

    Create a guest network.

    Set up a separate Wi-Fi network with a separate password just for your guests. Simply enable the guest networking feature, and your guests can access the Internet but not other parts of your primary network, such as your computers, printers, and LAN-attached hard drives.

      fantastic upgrade

      Same size as my apple tv. The new airport express adds many of the features previously only available to the Extreme. A Ethernet port as well to hook up to a wi Same size as my apple tv. Very easy to set up and works perfectly. I'm in 800SQ FT home though. anything over you should still consider an Extreme for the range.

      Great Router?

      Knowing the extremes Apple, Inc. goes to, this is once again one great product of Apple. I had a Linksys router, which almost cost my house to be in flames. The Linksys must have overheated and caught on fire - burning a hole in my cherry wood desk that has my 'Apple Collection' including vintage Macs. I would have died if anything would have happened to them. I saw online about this product and was persuaded to purchase it! It is so small, fits perfectly on my desk, and lastly became well fit in with my Apple Collection! The setup was quick and easy; Any old person could set it up! Great job again, Apple! :)

      Better than the last one!

      It is worth the price tag and to be honest, it is better than the previous AirPort. Easy to set up and working flawlessly.

      AirPlay and Spotify brought me out of the Stone Age

      I've been a bit of a Luddite when it comes to music streaming -- didn't understand the benefits of Spotify and thought my Beocenter 2 from about 2002 was still I've been a bit of a Luddite when it comes to music streaming -- didn't understand the benefits of Spotify and thought my Beocenter 2 from about 2002 was still state of the art. I was actually still buying music CD's! Story is too long to re-tell but bottom line is that I discovered that I could stream music, using Airport Express, to my existing B&O system. How cool! Bought the Express and had streaming with Spotify up and running in five minutes flat (no BS). It works perfectly and, with Spotify, I have unbelievable access to any/all music on the planet! So for $100 I've brought my mega-buck, but obsolete, stereo system into the 21st century and have a whole new perspective on music -- what I listen to, how I access it, everything! It really is revolutionary -- AirPlay and Spotify. (I suppose Apple Music is similar) If anyone is looking to buy a bunch of old CD's I have several hundred... PS Reason I gave only 4 stars is that I haven't explored the other capabilities of the Express yet.

      Gotta say, after dealing with leased modem/router combos with significant issues from my ISP and many of the top networking companies routers having serious rel Gotta say, after dealing with leased modem/router combos with significant issues from my ISP and many of the top networking companies routers having serious reliability issues I decided to pick one of these up. I snagged a used Express from an onlin retailer to give it a try. We have a few macs, iPhones and a few PC's in our house amongst other wireless enabled devices and we had always had issues, but they were all resolved upon hooking this up. My network space isn't too cluttered so we don't have too many issues using either band or dropped signal. Streaming is great, pages load nicely. I was kind of surprised, I know apple isn't quite a networking company but this little guy holds up. So much that I bought a new AirPort Extreme for a little upgrade and it's working wonderfully. Think these will stay my daily drivers for all things home wifi for a while.

      To make a long story short: I bought an Airport Express at Staples and tried to set it up using both my MacBook pro and my iPhone to run the initial setup requi To make a long story short: I bought an Airport Express at Staples and tried to set it up using both my MacBook pro and my iPhone to run the initial setup required to make this device work. After I had input all the necessary information, the configuration would be stuck loading trying to find the router, then would fail and say "an unexpected error occurred". I used Airport Utility on both my Macbook and iPhone, as well as the iPhone's Wireless settings. I tried multiple times and every single time, the configuration would fail. I tried resetting the Airport Express, but nothing changed. I also tried disconnecting from power, and reconnecting, and it would still not get past the same problem. I also used the IPv6 trick every place that suggested a solution online suggested and it did not work either. You'd think Apple would make a hassle free wireless device, but they had to make it complicated instead of making a plug-in and go device. I was very disappointed, because I thought Apple was more reliable than this.
