I recently set a macmini 2018 to run a Monitor through HDMI and and an extended monitor through SVGA. The HDMI is plugged directly into the Mini. The SVGA goes into a Hub through Thunderbolt 3 (USBC). Here is the issue I am having. When I shut the mini down. Come back later and start up. I have to unplug everything but the HDMI monitor to get a monitor to show up. I can then plug everything back in once it has booted up and works fine. I have had Macs since 1985 or so. Hello. Recently I acquired a drawing tablet for my birthday but it requires an HDMI port to connect and I cannot find any official adapters from Apple to connect an iMac that only has Thunderbolt 2 ports to HDMI . All my attempts to search for a Thunderbolt 2 to HDMI have led to products that use newer ports (Thunderbolt 4, USB-C) that my iMac does not have, third party cables and adaptors that may or may not work, or Mini DisplayPort adapters that, as far as I know, do not have functionality...

My set up: New Mac Mini (with the M1 chip if that matters) Old Samsung monitor Old HDMI cable The cable works for other stuff (DVD player), and I figured it would work for this. So I plugged it into the HDMI port on back of the Mac and the monitor. But it doesn't work. Could it be that I need a new HDMI cable? I suspect it is a 1.4. Would an older wire simply not work...

I have recently purchased an iPad 8 and it will not play on tv via the Apple lightning digital AV adapter. I have checked the adapter by using it with my iPhone 13 and all is fine. I am running the latest iOS on both devices. When I plug the adapter in, the iPad recognises it with a small blue icon at the top of the screen. Once I connect it to the tv the blue icon disappears. I have tried connecting both the tv and iPad first with no success . Any help advice would be appreciated. Unfortunately...
