I open Time Machine and it brings up several pages and on the sidebar, the backup is grayed out. How do I change that so the USB that I last backup on can run?...
I posted this to apple advice, but it seems like this might actually be a better place. I’ve had my 13 Pro for about 2 months now. I was sending a random photo to a friend last night on Facebook messenger and noticed this weird set of blue lines on the image. They immediately looked like sensor damage but I’m not sure that’s actually the case. I’ve been able to replicate it successfully in WhatsApp and Instagram (obviously all owned by meta so presumably using the same API?). The trigger seems...
Most people using Windows knows what the Blue Screen of Death is. I.e. you are just finishing something you've been working on for hours, just the last touches before you're off to a well deserved weekend. Then it happens. All gone and you're left with a blue screen with some text (that probably BG wrote). Now MacOS seems to have it own version except that it is purple and is preceded by a short freeze. Then all goes purple for some milliseconds. Which is followed by a restart. All work a goner...
I have a MacBook Pro running Monterey v.12.4. While doing something else at my desk, I accidentally rested my arm on the mouse. When I realized it, I looked up and saw that most of the icons on my desktop were gone. These included mostly photos, plus a few documents. Is there an easy way to restore the desktop to its previous state?...
My husband and I both bought new MacBook Pros in the summer of 2020. Within a year, the 4 thunderbolt 3 ports on both machines began to fail intermittently (left side first, right side later). We were both sent new power supplies; that didn't help. We both have to reboot the SMC frequently, which helps for a limited time. Usually this has to be done in conjunction with powering down and leaving the laptop to charge overnight. Last time it didn't work for my husband and his laptop is dead...
to do with the Touch Bar. I've figured out the ONLY way to resolve it to reinstall the OS which is a pain in the arse and only a temporary fix. 3) Black sticky stuff has started oozing from around my screen. When the MacBook is closed it sticks the lid to the base. I can kind of scrape/wipe it away but next it looks rough and next time I close the MacBook same thing will happen again. Im kind of disappointed with the quality of this relatively new MacBook especially when compared to my last one which just kept...
Menu Bar Sound Icon is not updated when volume is changed via keyboard shortcut macOS Monterey 12.4 (iMac 2021): Press Fn + F10 / F11 / F12. Check the sound icon in the menu bar.
