In Finder or on the main screen, the shift key and the command key will not select multiple adjacent items by clicking the first item and then using one of those keys and clicking on the last item . I would expect all items in between to be selected, but this is not happening....

I read that having ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.recentitems.plist created anew might help, but that doesn’t seem to apply to El Capitan (as there is no such file on my mac). Any idea? Thanks!...
